BANGALORE: Kshema Technologies is on the look out for acquisitions. The company, which had started with SAP implementation and maintenance services around four months back, will especially be looking to gather skills through inorganic growth in that segment.

"We recently landed our first project for SAP work in Singapore. We have around a ten-member project team working on it there at the moment. We want to establish our presence in this area and will look to picking up companies - both internationally for clients and locally for skilled manpower - to develop on that base," said Chairman and CEO of Kshema Technologies, Anant Koppar. He added that these acquisitions would happen either through cash from the company's cash reserves or as a stock exchange.

At the same time, he does not discount the possibility of Kshema itself being acquired by a larger conglomerate.

"In today's market, size matters and larger companies are the ones that customers go for. There is a lot of consolidation already happening in the area. It is not about giving up on your own company anymore but about moving up the ladder to better possibilities," he explained. He added that though there had been some offers in 2000, there is nothing interesting on its plate at the moment.

The company also opines that its healthcare and life sciences division holds big potential for growth in the coming fiscal. Last fiscal the division grossed close to 40 percent of the revenue and Koppar expects it to grow by five percent this year.

Out of a total of a little more than 400 people, the company has 120 people in the healthcare and lifesciences division. Koppar expects the strength of the company to grow in a major fashion next fiscal with bigger projects and more ODC opportunities.

Around 46 percent of Kshema is owned by GTV, while Singapore Computer Systems, which invested in the company in 2002-03, owns 30 percent. The organization notched revenues of Rs 58 crore and a PAT of Rs 7.8 crore.
