BANGALORE: Kshema Technologies of Bangalore has seen its
revenues increase by a steep 184 per cent for the quarter ended December 31,
2000 to Rs 16.6 crore as against Rs 5.8 crore during the corresponding quarter,
a release said. Net profit for the quarter shot up by 196 per cent to Rs 5.11
crore from Rs 1.73 crore in the year ago period. Revenue for the nine month
period ended December 2000 is Rs 41.6 crore. Net profit for the nine months
period shot up to Rs 10.25 crore.
For the quarter under review, converging communications
accounting for 43 per cent of its revenue, information technology 16 per cent
and healthcare 17 per cent. The company has added six new customers this quarter
and increased its employee strength from 457 to 530.
Talking about the company’s focus on bioinformatics, Kshema
president and CEO Anant Koppar said, "Kshema has the capabilities and
maturity to play a major role in bioinformatics. We can design databases that
are capable of handling the deluge of information generated by any commercial
bioinformatics process."
