KPIT Infosystems and Cummins Infotech to merge

PUNE: KPIT Infosystems and Cummins Infotech (CIT), have announced that their

respective board of directors will meet on April 30, 2002, to consider and to

approve the merger of the two companies.

With this, KPIT will gain a significant customer in Cummins Inc., and a

stronger presence in the market in the manufacturing vertical. CIT will gain by

enhancing its ability to service Cummins through a greater diversity in skills

and a large base of customers. Overall, the merged entity will be a bigger

organization with a global presence and a stronger focus on manufacturing as a

vertical.

It provides software development and maintenance services to clients in the

financial, manufacturing and software product industries. Its competencies

include data warehousing, business intelligence, application integration and

embedded and real-time systems. KPIT offers its clients a Global Delivery Model

with its development centers in Pune and subsidiaries in the US, UK and the

Middle East.

Cummins Infotech is a subsidiary of Cummins and provides IT services to

Cummins and non- Cummins entities worldwide. Cummins India is a 51 per cent

subsidiary of Cummins Inc., and manufactures, markets and dual fuel diesel, gas

and power gen and engines for industrial applications.
