BANGALORE: Kobian India has announced its plans to enter the networking market with LAN cards, hubs and switches. Making its presence for the first time in the Indian networking market, Kobian has appointed Neoteric Infomatique Ltd., a Mumbai-based company as the exclusive distributor for the new range of products.

Kobian plans to reach geographies with Neoteric’s 20 branches and channel network spread across the country. According to Kobian, Neoteric would dedicate a separate team to focus on the new line of networking products. The company also plans to appoint exclusive dealers to capture the market.

"We would be launching 10/100 RTL LAN Card, 5, 8 and 16 port Ethernet hub and switches very soon," said Sunil Sharma, MD, Kobian India. The company would target the SOHO and SME users for the current product-line, he informed. As a new entrant into the market, Kobian India aims to achieve a 20 percent to 25 percent marketshare by the end of fiscal 2003.

However, the company did not comment on the revenues expected from the new division. "Our products will be competitively priced in the market and this will help us to attract buyers faster," said Sharma. Kobian India would also be including wireless networking products, routers and rack mountable switches under its new networking division shortly.
