CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: KnowledgeTree has announced the launch of a new website and release of developer guides, marketing material and all related product documentations under the Creative Commons Attribution License.
The KnowledgeTree Document Management System and associated software is already released under a number of open source licenses. Making all related documentation available under open license terms is strongly complementary to this approach.
"KnowledgeTree is all about simplicity and open source. In fact, we feel so strongly about promoting simplicity and freedom that we have open sourced our entire web presence and all of our marketing material and documentation. We want our community to use our intellectual property in any way they desire- from adapting our documentation for use within their organizations to utilizing our developer documentation as the basis for documentation for their own KnowledgeTree-related products," stated KnowledgeTree COO Daniel Chalef.
The entire KnowledgeTree web presence and all other publicly available material generated by KnowledgeTree now carry a Creative Commons Attribution Deed logo. Users of material licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution license may copy, distribute and display the material - and derivative works based upon it - provided they credit KnowledgeTree for having developed it.
