THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Latin American technology companies have evinced keen interest in forging relations with IT companies in Kerala.
A high-level delegation from Latin America comprising Ambassadors of Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela, which visited the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark as part of their visit to nurture and strengthen ties between Kerala and Latin America, appreciated the work environment provided by Technopark and made inquiries on how to go about establishing more meaningful cooperation with the companies in Kerala.
The delegation, led by Lilena Santana Ramirez, Ambassador of the Boliviar Republic of Venezuela, comprised Frank Hans Dannernberg, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Cesar Ferrer, Ambassador of Uruguay and Varunesh Tuli, Chairman of the Indo-Latin American Political Forum
Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander updated the delegation on the various initiatives undertaken by IT Kerala.
Later on, Alexander told the media that Latin America provides similar working conditions like Technopark.
“In our meeting we discussed on the possibility of an association that will mutually benefit both the countries,” he added.
“The facilities provided by the Latin American countries to develop the IT industry are state-of-the-art and companies of Technopark can contemplate expanding their operations into these regions through our mutual association.”
The delegation will also hold discussions with the Chief Minister and the state IT Secretary to discuss strengthening relations between both countries.
