Kannur and Palakkad are two districts in Kerala that have been included in the National e-Governance Programme (NeGP).

"The success of the pilot project in Kannur and Palakkad has given strength and hope to the Government in launching the e-district programme to all the other districts, exploiting the potential and advantages of the Information Technology," said Chandy.

The State Government aims to achieve 100 percent Aadhaar registration in the next six to eight months. It aims at becoming the first state to provide the unique identification (UID) to everyone in the state.

Chandy said, "Of the 3.3 crore population, the State's Aadhaar registration has crossed 2.53 crore and of them 1.6 crore people have already been allotted with their Aadhaar cards."

Chandy also said that the Secretariat file tracking system has already been implemented and now people can track their application from anywhere, ensuring transparency in the functioning of various Government departments.
