Kerala CM's office goes live on Internet

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: If you want to see what is happening inside Oommen Chandy's office, just log onto http://www.keralacm.gov.in/ any time of the day and live footage of the Kerala chief minister's chamber and office will be beamed live to your computer.

"This is being done to ensure that everything is transparent because anyone sitting anywhere can log onto the website and see what happens in my chamber and office," Chandy said Friday.

Four cameras have been placed inside his office and chamber.

"We intend to extend this facility to other ministers' office also. Labour Minister Shibu Baby John has already expressed his desire for this facility and it would be decided by the cabinet shortly," said Chandy.

In 2004 also when Chandy was Chief Minister, he went for the facility but it was operational only when he was in his chamber.

"All my meetings, press conferences and cabinet briefing would be available live on this site. Anyone wishing to send me any information can log on and upload what they want and it would be looked into," said Chandy.

"I also request people to contribute whatever ideas they have to the idea-bank named 'Vision 2030' that is there on the website," added Chandy.
