THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala's premier public sector electronics company, Keltron
will shortly introduce a Web-based service for presentation of recurring bills
and its payment, in collaboration with Bill Junction, the e-commerce outfit of
Industrial Credit Investment Corporation of India (ICICI).
ICICI has already implemented this system in two metros-Mumbai and Delhi
while it has chosen Keltron as its partner in Kerala. The facility will be
initially launched in Thiruvananthapuram and will later be introduced in Kochi
and Kozhikode.
The agreement envisages providing a round-the-clock on-line payment facility
that can be accessed from anywhere through web interface. Regular payments
against electricity, water, telephone, mobile phone, credit cards, taxes,
insurance bills and loans will be notified to the subscriber through email.
The on-line service system will then affect a payment to the concerned
agencies on receipt of valid authorization from the subscriber. Payment can be
made through any existing bank accounts of the subscriber using Electronic
Clearing Service provided by Reserve Bank of India.
The services offered include electronic notification of bills, bank reminders
and account information and confirmation of the settlement of bills. The system
utilizes secure socket layer technology to ensure safety and reliability.
