Kartik Shahani is RSA regional leader

MUMBAI, INDIA: RSA, the security division of EMC, today announced the appointment of Kartik Shahani as RSA regional leader for India and SAARC.

In this role, Kartik, based in Mumbai, will be responsible for leading RSA’s business operations in the region and growing sales of the company’s offerings in the area of security solutions for business acceleration, said a press release.

Commenting on the appointment, Geoff Haydon, vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan, RSA, The Security Division of EMC, said, “India is one of RSA’s most strategic markets. With a veteran like Kartik at the helm, I believe that RSA will be able to accelerate and further consolidate its leadership position in the Indian market.”

Prior to joining RSA, Kartik had held senior positions with McAfee India Sales Pvt. Ltd. and Netmagic. At both companies, he was instrumental in the complete turnaround of their operations, said RSA. Kartik also played a key role in setting up the High End Production Systems group at Xerox India.

Kartik has worked in various capacities from a programmer, field engineer, enterprise sales manager to grow to the position of a regional leader during his career.

Elaborating on his role at RSA, Kartik said the online threat landscape is rapidly evolving and is compelling everyone including enterprises to protect their information and IT assets with an information-centric approach.

“The opportunity with RSA, a clear visionary and leader in delivering information-centric security as part of the information infrastructure, is an exciting one in a growth market. I look forward to building on the growth base already in place and accelerating it to new levels,” he added.

Kartik holds an engineering degree from the University of Bombay and an MBA from the University of New England, Australia.
