Karnik launches Micro Tech's VBB Marshal

NEW DELHI: NASSCOM president Kiran Karnik today launched Micro Technologies (I) Ltd's 'Micro VBB Marshal', a customized security product for the ITeS and BPO industry, at the 7th Auto Expo being held here.

Micro VBB Marshal is a mobile phone and GIS-based vehicle location and tracking applications security product with RFID. This product has features like vehicle location monitoring (cell based), tele-matics (two-way communication), emergency messaging and intrusion detection and vehicle immobilization.

According to Micro Technologies CMD Dr. P Sekhar, the product is a security and messaging antitheft device with various sensors installed in the vehicle. This box converts the mechanical action into digital command and passes it to the registered user's mobile phone/control panel in the shape of an SMS and the vice-versa. This box senses any intrusion of vehicle doors and immediately communicates such events to the registered user's mobile through SMS.

It also features a Panic button, which is installed both in drivers as well as passenger cabin. This button can be used in case of emergency and communicated to the control panel about the emergency in the vehicle. The vehicles registered user can control his/her vehicle globally by sending command from mobile as SMS to “Micro VBB”.

Sekhar said, “This product will help companies in tracking the employee movements, ensuring better safety and maintaining an exact record of the employee whereabouts with the use of RFID technology. Also the GIS based vehicle tracking system enables real time vehicle monitoring and disallows misuse of individual vehicle by the drivers.”

The product is available in three versions — classic, deluxe and Marshal with prices starting from Rs 16,500. The company has already sold 10,000 pieces to BPOs and expects to cross the 50,000-piece mark next year.
