NEW DELHI, INDIA: Karnataka High Court has admitted a petition filed by Vijayashankar and Satyachethan, from Digital Society Foundation, against youtube.com, for a clipping on the video portal, defaming Mahatma Gandhi.
The bench consisting of the chief justice of the High Court of Karnataka, Cyriac Joseph and justice BS Patil has also ordered notices to be served on the Union of India (Ministry of Information Technology), youtube.com, Google, Cert-In, ISPAI and Gautam Prasad (Resident of USA), for action to stop the publication of a video on youtube.com defaming Mahatma Gandhi.
The petitioners had asked for blocking of the video and for establishment of a system to deal with similar issues arising in future.
