Kalpana Morparia joins CMC board

BANGALORE, INDIA: CMC, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services Limited, today announced that the company’s board of directors has appointed Kalpana Morparia as independent director with effect from today.

In her earlier stint Morparia was vice chair – Insurance Securities and Asset Management, ICICI Group.

“Kalpana Morparia’s extensive experience in banking and finance will enrich the deliberations of the CMC Board and I am sure her contribution and counsel will be of great value to the company in the years to come,” said S. Ramadorai, chairman, CMC.

CB Bhave has resigned from the CMC board on joining SEBI as chairman.

With the addition of Morparia, there are seven directors on the CMC board including four independent directors. They include S Ramadorai, R Ramanan, Ishaat Hussain, Dr KRS Murthy, Surendra Singh and Shardul Shroff.

A graduate in science and law from Bombay University, Morparia joined ICICI Limited in 1975 and led the ICICI group’s major corporate structuring initiative.
