Kale's airline operating profit up 143% in Q4

BANGALORE: Kale Consultants Ltd (Kale), provider of software solutions and outsourced services to the travel and transportation industry, has recorded 143 percent increase in operating profit to Rs 2.72 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 from Rs 1.12 crore from the airline segment in the corresponding quarter during the previous year.

Operating revenues stood at Rs 15.49 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 9.79 crore from the airline segment for the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 58 percent.

For the year ended March 31, 2005, Kale has recorded operating revenues of Rs 49.29 crore as compared to Rs 37.61 crore from the airline segment during the previous year, a growth of 31 percent. Operating profit has grown to Rs 3.67 crore from Rs 3.16 crore during the previous year. The company added 10 new customers in FY05. It also added 131 people during the year, taking the total strength to 634 people.

Commenting on the performance, Kale group CEO and MD Vipul Jain said, "This year has been an encouraging year for Kale. We added many customers, enhanced our product and service portfolio and renewed long term contracts with our existing customers. All of this work will ensure sustained revenue and profit growth going forward."
