Kale will provide complete revenue accounting processing services. It will provide services to BMI from its Managed Processing Services centre in Mumbai and the value of the five-year contract is estimated to be approximately £8 million.

Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, Nigel Turner, chief executive officer, BMI, said, "Our business objective was to significantly reduce our operational costs and improve the revenue accounting process. To achieve this, we needed to use an industry standard solution, and outsource the work to an accredited and established service provider with the requisite processes to ensure business continuity and low risk. ."

With the system planned to go live shortly, BMI will enjoy significant business benefits, supporting its continued development to enhance their long haul profile at London Heathrow. Revenue will be maximised through accurate billing and verification, accounting costs will be reduced, productivity will be enhanced and training costs eliminated.

To provide the service, Kale is using its proprietary software solution REVERATM, which includes APEXTM, Kale's proration system chosen by IATA as one of the two solutions of choice for its neutral fare proration service, and PRISM, for gathering business intelligence.
