Kalam to address Nasscom 2005 summit

MUMBAI: President of India APJ Abdul Kalam will deliver the keynote address at the NASSCOM 2005: India Leadership Forum, which is going to be held in Mumbai from February 8- February 10, 2005.

NASSCOM 2005: India Leadership Forum is an important milestone as it marks two decades of development of the Indian IT industry. In addition, leading international CIOs will not only share international best practices but also their experience of operating in matured markets.





Speaking on the event, Nasscom president, Kiran Karnik said, "India has, over the last decade, been able to create substantial recall and mind share as a global provider of technology services. Nasscom 2005 will provide a platform to international CIOs from countries that are important markets and potential partners for the Indian IT industry to share best practices with Indian vendors. The conference will also provide a perspective on innovation and new technological developments across the globe, and ways to maximize business impact of outsourcing".



Focusing on the theme of 'Innovation for Globalization,' the India Leadership Forum is Nasscom's effort to create an exclusive and unique opportunity for delegates who want to share insights, learn best practices and network for business.



Nasscom 2005 will have focused tracks on IT usage by BFSI, telecom sector and the Government, apart from sessions on the global economic landscape, globalization strategies, best practices for outsourcing deals, evolving contours of global delivery model, mergers and acquisitions in the IT sector, opportunities for innovation in India and IT consulting.



With presentations from countries/regions like Canada, Scotland and British Midlands, Nasscom 2005 will provide Indian IT companies an opportunity to explore business beyond the traditional geographies. The event is expected to bring together over 1200 delegates from India and overseas. Additionally, Nasscom 2005 will have over 100 speakers who will address more than 30 sessions spread across three days of the conference.
