Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the world’s second-richest man, has bought a hydrogen-powered superyacht costing $747 million.
The luxury superyacht is designed by Dutch company Sinot. The length of the yacht will be 112 meters. It will comprise five decks with space for 14 guests, 31 crew members, a gym, yoga studio, a beauty room, massage parlor, an infinity pool, and a helipad.
The yacht was first revealed in Monaco in 2019. The superyacht is not expected to hit the water before 2024, according to the UK's Telegraph newspaper. It has the potential to reach a speed of 17 knots.
Earlier Bill Gates used to rent superyacht during his trips but this time he spent $747 million to own a superyacht. The amount is huge but how much time will take Bill Gates to earn back the same?
According to Business Insider calculations, Gates makes approximately $380 per second. To translate the same into his spending, it will take 23 days.
Meaning, Bill Gates invested an amount which is his less than a month’s income.
Bill Gates's net worth is estimated at $104 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index. And if he will spend $1 million per day, it would take more than 285 years to spend his fortune.
