NEW DELHI: Juniper Networks has bagged one of the largest orders from BSNL for its M-series routers for the country's first nationwide IP/MPLS network, Girder Java, country manager for India and SAARC, Juniper announced in a media briefing. Running on an optical backbone, the network would deliver new revenue-generating services to their corporate customers across India, including those in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.

In addition, existing ATM and Frame Relay services would be consolidated over this IP/MPLS network to reduce operational costs, while protecting existing investments. Java however refused to divulge the size of the order, citing corporate policy.

Talking to CNS, Java informed that Juniper is all set to increase its headcount in India, and consolidate the channels and system integrators. Projected growth in India for the coming year is significant, he informed, but again refused to divulge specifics.
