Juniper India announces changes to spruce up marketing

BANGALORE: Juniper Networks, Inc. today announced a realignment of its India and SAARC operations to give greater management focus to its key market segments, enterprises and service providers. Nagendra "Venky" Venkaswamy has been appointed managing director, while Java Girdhar has assumed the role of regional director for service providers.

"These two appointments deploy vastly experienced managers to address the specific requirements of service providers and enterprises," said Brad Gray,Juniper Network's vice president for Asia South Pacific. "Our 100th Indian reseller was appointed last year, and six out of India's top 10 enterprises and four of the top five service providers now rely on Juniper solutions.

Venky's background in channels management and Java's understanding of the service provider market will help us further expand that footprint and better serve India's networkers."

Venkaswamy will be based in Mumbai and will lead Juniper India's sales and systems engineering teams based in Delhi and Mumbai.Prior to joining Juniper Networks, he was the president and CEO of Datacraft India, one of India's leading systems integrators. He was also formerly the managing director of PSI Data Systems, the vice president of sales and technical support for

DEC/Compaq and the general manager of IBM India. Mr Venkaswamy also worked with Nipuna Services, Tata Unisys and Wipro Infotech.
