Joomla! Day-Open source conclave for developers

AUSTIN, USA: The Joomla! project has announced that the next Joomla! users conference will be held in Austin, Texas on July 21st, 2007. Joomla! is an award-winning, Open Source Content Management System (CMS) that facilitates the building of highly scalable websites and other powerful internet applications. Joomla users conferences, formally known as "Joomla! Day", are held around the world in over 16 countries. This Joomla! Day specifically targets the growing high-tech communities of the Central USA and Mexico.

Joomla! Day Central USA and Mexico will provide technical and non-technical users training and skills to fully exploit the Joomla Content Management System. Attendees will interact with the key developers and leaders within the Joomla! project which include Johan Janssens, project leader, Louis Landry, lead developer, Andy Miller, Design and Web Standards Working Group, and Rob Schely, Quality & Testing Working Group.

Joomla! provides thousands of free, pluggable components and web templates and it is used for simple websites to complex corporate applications. Joomla! provides capabilities for social networking, blogging, e-commerce, intranets, corporate websites and more. Joomla! is released as free software under the GNU General Public License (GPL) to guarantee the ability to share and change the software to suit a variety of needs.
