JobsDB making a comeback in India

CHENNAI: JobsDB.com is all set to make a comeback in the market. Asia's popular recruitment services portal will make a re-entry with aggressive strategies to capture a significant market share by 2005. One of the main objectives would be to position its products-Dimension and Drake P3, in the corporate, consultants and job seekers market, to bring in a sustainable revenue stream for the company. However, the online portal will continue be the main driver of business for the company. "The job market has matured. Business dimensions and corporate requirements have changed with the time and today, the market needs more of qualified and trained professionals than beginners. Given the situation, our products would power both the corporate and individuals to move in the right direction and get what they want in business. It is a powerful tool to power your business," said R Guhan, the newly-appointed country manager at Jobs DB India Pvt Ltd.



JobsDB.com is planning to conduct seminars and events across the country to promote its products and services. It would make its online advertisements more effective with limited time for carrying it. "We want to give effective information for the users," he said. The company is making 85 percent of revenue from online, while off-line products such as Dimension contributes five percent and Drake P3 bringing in 10 percent. "We want to broadbase our business in 2005 with online contributing 60 percent, while products would share the remaining 40 percent equally," he explained.



The major revenue for the company comes from IT and ITeS segment with 50 percent share, while manufacturing & pharma provide 20 percent and sales & marketing contribute the remaining 30 percent. "Dimension is mainly a HR tool integrated with the customer Website to manage their recruitment database. It is a powerful tool, which helps corporate to conduct search functions in various permutations and combinations. While Drake P3 is a psychometric test software which is available for both corporate and job seekers to profile and analyze the skill sets of the individuals," said Guhan.



Talking about the job market in south India, Guhan said, Chennai is leading the race offering more job opportunities with its wide IT and BPO base, and several technology parks in and around Chennai. "According to CII, Chennai will need over 2.5 lakh people for IT industry alone by 2007," he said. "Manufacturing design is also picking up with more demand for CAD/CAM professionals."



JobsDB.com is also expanding its direct presence in the country from present two locations-Chennai and Bangalore, to five including Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai. The company would also increase its head count from 25 to 85 by 2005.
