BANGALORE:A recent poll conducted by Monster India, a part of the global online careers site and brand Monster Worldwide, reveals that more that 33 per cent of job seekers would consider changing their jobs for a more challenging one. The Monster meter poll consisted of the singe question "why would you consider changing your job this year?" for which around 14,000 votes were cast between March 4 and March 21, 2005. Around 29 per cent said they would change for a better work/life balance, 24 per cent for better pay and 12 per cent for relocation.

The Monster Meter, a product of Monster India, part of the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, is an ongoing series of online polls that gauge users' opinions on a variety of topics relating to careers, the economy and the workplace.

The company has also come out with a few job-seeking tips as part of the survey results. Some of them include keeping the resume updated every six months, finding a mentor within the organization to help in moving up the ladder and networking with other professionals.

"The Indian job market is growing at a fast pace and these poll results show that more and more job seekers are ready to take advantage of this buoyancy in hiring," said Monster Asia VP Markeing Dhruv Shenoy.. "This a great time for job seekers to consolidate their career plans and they can hope to strike it big now more than ever," he advised.

He opined, "To the employers there is a clear message that they need to enhance their efforts in showcasing themselves as employers of choice. The job descriptions for example can be more detailed and should be motivating enough for the talented job seeker to apply for."
