Job fair makes recruitment easy

BANGALORE: HR Works and Venture India have come together to organise a one-of-its-kind e-recruitment fair, where IT and IT-Enabled services companies will be recruiting fresh graduates, MBAs, IT professionals and other professionals on-the-spot.






This is a marked shift from the high-profile campus recruitment, heralding a new era of mass recruitment. It is also for the first time that competing companies will be coming together on a single platform and vying for fresh talent.





According to Vijay Waidande, president & CEO HR Works, "This is a unique concept and is already headed for a mega success. Right from GE, BMC Software, HSBC, WNS-GS, Satyam Computers, KPIT, Cybage software Solutions to Tata Honeywell, corporates of all hues have already booked stalls for the first-of-its-kind job mela. These companies represent all the four corridors of IT and ITES, that is Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad."





Waidande is expecting a cumulative turnout of around 6,000 graduates and IT professionals from these four centres. Conceptualised by HR Works, the Pune-based HR solutions provider specialising in staffing, HR business process outsourcing and HR consulting and the event management and conceptualisation company Ventures India specialising in outdoor development programmes, corporate launches, events and promotions and marketing support, the fair is scheduled for June 14 and 15 2003.





During the fair, engineering as well as non-engineering students and IT professionals will have across the table discussion on the jobs offered by the companies. The best part is that all the CVs will be fresh and will not require any check back on availability of candidates, interest, shortlisting. The present average recruitment cost is prohibitive — Rs 30,000-40,000 per candidate — and the lead-time for recruitment too is not matching with the expectations of companies. `E-Recruitment Fair 2003 is the timely solution to all these issues," says Waidande.
