Jimmy Wales to attend Wikicamp in Chennai

BANGALORE: Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales is expected to attend the first ever Wikicamp in Chennai on Sunday.

The organizers are calling this India's first “unconference” on Wikis. This means that all the sessions would be interactive from the word go and everyone can share their own knowledge on the subject of discussion.

The objective of this meet for is to harness and understand the power of Wikis. The daylong event will be held at the Tidel Park in Chennai.

The camp will bring together the think-tank from the Wiki/Internet space to talk about issues, opportunities and what the future holds for Wiki.

The not-for-profit association, The Knowledge Foundation that recently conducted the BlogCamp in Chennai, is coordinating the event.

According to Wales's blog, he will be in India for a week.
