Jharkhand utility embraces online gateway

MUMBAI, INDIA: Citizen-centric convenience services assumed centrestage today in the state of Jharkhand as Chief Minister, Shri Raghubar Das, inaugurated the Next Generation Online Payment Gateway for Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), powered by TechProcess Payment Services Ltd. With this, the citizens of Jharkhand will be able to pay their electricity utility services bill over convenience mode of online medium, as explained.

With the growing thrust towards m-governance and provision of public services on mobile phones in India, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) has decided to provide convenience to their customers by enabling bill payments online.

Paynimo, a mobile-first payment platform, powered by Mumbai-based TechProcess will empower JBVNL customers to make bill payments and handling its entire payment process flow in a secure and convenient manner anytime, anywhere.

On the occasion, CM Raghubar Das said, “It is a great initiative by JBVNL and TechProcess together to solve real world problems such as paying utility bills online and leveraging the high penetration of internet and smart phones in India.”

Rahul Kumar Purwar, MD, JBVNL, which  is a discom utility of Jharkhand State said, “With the launch of this initiative, we intend to reduce the hassle of long queues, save time, provide accessibility and transparency to the consumers for electricity bill payments and take a small step taken towards cashless economy & Digital India.”
