BANGALORE: Integra Micro promoted Jataayu Software, released WAP 2.0,
versions of gateway and browsers, the latest version of WAP. As the
International forum for WAP announced the specifications this August, Jataayu
claims it to be the first in the world to roll out products based on the latest
version of WAP.
Specializing in WAP and other mobile web applications, Jataayu, has added
features such as, immediate messaging, multimedia messaging and data
synchronization. "WAP 2.0 is a significant enhancement over its predecessor
WAP1.2 and is expected to firmly establish the mobile Internet industry created
by the WAP 1.x specification.
WAP 2 standard heralds the use of multimedia content over mobile networks,
direct access to http sites and complete end-to-end security among other
features. This will re-instigate the WAP revolution in the world," said,
Jataayu Software CEO, Mahesh Jain.
With TCS as a strategic partner and investor in Jataayu Software, its chief
executive S Ramadorai, said, "This will enable Jataayu Software to access
leading operators, software companies and instrument providers for upgrading
current version of WAP". It also brings WAP and web much closer which will
benefit the user community. TCS will adapt WAP's latest version as and when
required, he added.
The company has four customers, one domestic and three overseas, for
implementing the latest version of WAP and looks at exploiting the market by
being the pioneer. "The convergence of WAP 2 with web technologies will
pave way for rapid development of new mobile services. The associated
technologies such as SyncML will fuel the exploitation of data access over
mobile Internet. Jataayu would soon deploy this technology worldwide."
