Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Marubeni is a global trading and investment company with $87 billion in annual revenue, operating worldwide from 118 offices in 64 countries, and provides products and services for industries including food, textiles, pulp and paper, chemicals, energy, metals and mineral resources, transportation machinery, and trading; as it explains ahead.

“Our rapid global growth necessitated that we upgrade to a next-generation CTRM software solution with the most robust trading and risk management functionality,” said Jun Tsubaki, Chief Financial & Administrative Officer, Marubeni Grain & Oilseeds Trading. “Using Eka’s solution has allowed us to increase our trading volume with the same number of people. We have better visibility, better control of risk, better management of foreign exchange exposures, and can more effectively meet corporate governance requirements than was ever possible with our previous system.”

Marubeni is using Eka’s InSight CM - Agriculture, an end-to-end commodity management platform for managing physical trading, procurement, logistics, storage and handling, processing, and risk across the agriculture supply chain; the company adds. The software it claims, is suitable for a wide range of agri-commodities including grains, oilseeds, dairy, livestock, feed ingredients, biofuels, and fertilizers. "By providing up-to-date, accurate information throughout the supply chain, the agribusiness trading and risk software enables agriculture companies to better manage volatility in commodity prices, and view positions and exposures in real-time. With InSight CM - Agriculture, commodities companies can run scenarios that show the effect of potential changes on a company’s operating margin so they can maximize profits." it explained in the announcement

“Four out of the top five agricultural traders are Eka customers, including Bunge, Cargill, Glencore, and Louis Dreyfus,” said James Brackenrig, Vice President, Global Field Operations, Eka. “In competitive evaluations, Eka is a natural choice for commodities companies such as Marubeni looking for the most functional end-to-end solution on the market.”
