James Bryant, appointed executive VP of CA

MUMBAI: IT management software company CA has named

30-year industry veteran James E. Bryant to the new position of executive vice

president and chief administrative officer.






Bryant's appointment is immediate and he reports directly to the president and
chief executive officer John Swainson.






"Jim Bryant is a seasoned, experienced executive with an extensive
knowledge of the software industry and in running global operations," said

Swainson. "He will concentrate on ensuring that CA's transformation efforts

stay on track and that the Company's infrastructure and business processes fully

support our strategic objectives."






In this new position, Bryant will have responsibility for CA's information
technology, facilities and administration, and corporate transformation and

planning operations.






Bryant, 61, joins CA from Common Angels, a Boston-based investment group, which
provides funding and mentoring for high technology startups. Before joining

Common Angels, Bryant worked at IBM. He was the vice president in charge of the

finance and administrative operations of IBM's $8 billion software group for

eight years.






Bryant holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the
University of Missouri and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant and saw action in the Vietnam

conflict.






He has been a member of the Town of Hamilton, MA Board of Selectmen since 2003.
