Jai Pathak named Patni chairman

MUMBAI, INDIA: After completing the acquisition of the major stakes in Patni Computer Systems by iGate, Patni board announced on Thursday that it has named Jai Pathak as the new chairman of the company.

Phaneesh Murthy will be the managing director and CEO of the Indian IT company, Patni said in a regulatory filing. Current CEO Jeya Kumar has stepped down from the post as well as the board of the company.

Patni Board also accepted the resignation of independent directors Pradip Shah, Pradip Baijal, Ramesh Venkateswaran and Michael Cusumano and also the resignation of Louis Theodoor, who is the non-executive director. The changes will come into effect from Friday.
