JA, EMC India team up to bridge skill gap

BANGALORE, INDIA: EMC has announced that Junior Achievement (JA) India, a not-for-profit organization and member of JA Worldwide, is working with EMC India Center of Excellence to overcome skill gaps between the Indian IT industry and fresh graduates from colleges.

This new partnership will involve EMC India COE volunteers and JA India engaging with engineering students aspiring for a career in the Indian IT industry by developing their understanding of the Indian economy, IT industry and the workplace, EMC said in a press release.

Sean C Rush, president and CEO, JA Worldwide, said, “This partnership has come at the most opportune time given the strategic global presence of the Indian IT industry and the need for skilled workforce for maintaining the competitive advantage.”

Sarv Saravanan, vice president and managing director, EMC India Center of Excellence, said, “Given the employability gap that India is facing and the wide choices in careers available, our relationship with JA India will help make a real and measurable impact that positively influences the lives of students before they enter the IT workforce.”
