The Lumia 920 is priced at Rs. 38, 199 and Lumia 820 comes with a tag of Rs. 27,559, while Lumia 620 will be released early February. The Finnish manufacturer bets high on the Windows 8 platform and stated that it would be the principal platform across devices in future.

Nokia India vice-president and managing director, P. Balaji, said that with Windows 8, their thrust would be on imaging, entertainment and location services, in addition to stylish accessories.

"Out of 185 million mobile devices (sold annually in India), 10 per cent are smartphones," he added. Balaji believes that policy framework is evolving in India to make smart devices affordable.

The company is focusing on its flagship Nokia Lumia 920 device, which it touted as far better than what its rivals had to offer.

"It's the most innovative smartphone in the world. Our competitors, such as HTC and Samsung, are not even closer to Lumia 920. Its camera is better than (that of) iPhone," said Nokia India smart devices head Vipul Mehrotra.

Nokia is leveraging its extensive R&D work for its smartphone portfolio. "With an 8.7MP camera, Nokia Lumia offers best low-light performance and clicks blur-free images," he said. Apart from that, the company said, it has super sensitive touch display and HD+ display with Nokia PureMotion technology.
