TOKYO, JAPAN: e2v has launched a new range of Argus thermal imaging cameras, designed specifically for security and defence markets. The cameras feature the latest thermal imaging technology and are manufactured using European sourced components, making them available to the wider export market and not subject to the USA International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controls (UK export controls applies).
Argus cameras are recognised as being the most adaptable, rugged infrared cameras on the market. This new range has been designed with mission critical features aimed specifically at the security and defence markets and are Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products.
The new cameras feature a number of specialist application modes, which enable the camera to adapt to different environments and situations. The colour display modes highlight different temperatures in different colours, displaying the image in a clear, enhanced format. This level of detailed analysis provides a unique visual insight to the user, giving them a distinct operational advantage.
Other key features include the Defensive Search Mode, which is designed to highlight an individual or object of interest by maximising the camera's response. This enhances the detail of the individual/object and can potentially reveal concealed weapons. Another important feature is the Range Lock Mode which focuses the full dynamic range of the camera around the temperature of the selected target. This propriety software is unique to Argus cameras and significantly enhances operational capability over competitive products.
The cameras are also available with a range of options including interchangeable lenses and feature accessories tailored for any assignment, and every budget.
e2v's VP of Sales for Argus Thermal Imaging, Angus Drummond said, "This new line of cameras will provide a true advantage to security and defence applications, delivering the highest quality, and increasing the users' capabilities in an affordable package."
