DALLAS: Great Plains Regional Medical Center (Great Plains) is delivering enhanced access to patient information across the facility and the greater medical community using T SystemEV, the emergency department information system offered by T-System, Inc.

With T SystemEV, Great Plains is now contributing emergency department (ED) health information to the Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NeHII), the nation’s first and most successful statewide health information exchange (HIE) organization, tells a press note. NeHII provides health information for more than 1.5 million patients in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri to authorized physicians, hospitals, clinics and health insurance companies across the region. When Great Plains joined the initiative earlier this year, reports from T SystemEV were the first documents successfully transmitted from the hospital to NeHII. The participation of Great Plains and other healthcare organizations will help grow and strengthen this important initiative.

“With T SystemEV, ED records can be easily shared with other healthcare providers, improving communication and providing seamless patient care,” said James Smith, M.D., Vice President of Medical Affairs and Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Great Plains. “Without this tool, we just wouldn’t be able to provide patients with the same high level of quality care.”
