CHENNAI: Take Solutions, a technology enabled business solutions company, is all set to launch a new BPO for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, by the end of December 2005, in Chennai. Take Solutions CEO Ram Yeleswarapu said, "Pharmaceutical companies, from June 2005 are required to provide the United States' Food and Drug Administration (FDA) all products information in XML format in compliance with the structured product labeling (SPL) standard. This BPO division would help both pharma and biotech manufacturers satisfy the FDA norms. Besides, it will also benefit the Indian pharma and biotech exporters, to meet the FDA norms."

He added that Take's new product range, Submit SPL, a cost effective, reliable and smart way to produce labels in the FDA compliant format, which was launched two months ago in the US received a good response from pharma manufacturers.

According to Take Solutions corporate development executive VP Karl D Rabke, "Submit SPL would help pharmaceutical companies mitigate potential risks associated with non-compliance of FDA regulations and ensure that all product material contains the latest approved information, thus avoiding risks of FDA rejection as result of outdated information."

"Submit SPL would easily convert product information from traditional format to the SPL standard-based XML format and also covert to PDF format for printing and viewing. And the BPO division, which would be established would assist players across the globe, to meet FDA norms from June 2005," he further observed. He added that Submit SPL has received a tremendous response from among the Indian players, who are looking for a visibility in West for their products.

With a current employee base of around 400, Take Solutions intends to increase its headcount to 500, an addition of 100 with the launch of the BPO service.
