IT Kids to expand in western region of the country

BANGALORE: Chennai-based IT Kids plans to open more centres in the Western

region of the country keeping in mind the needs of its target consumers of four

to 14 year olds. The company plans to open up to 100 new centres in the next one

year, said company director V. Suresh Kumar.

He said the initiative would trigger phase I of the Rs 30 crore expansion

plan across the country while aiming a prominent in the West. The company

already has centres in Pune, Nasik, Rajkot and Mumbai and another four more are

expected to come up. Mr. Kumar said the aim of the company is to equip kids to

face the challenges of the new millennium with confidence and the ability to use

technology effectively. With the new centres, it aims to introduce 5,000

children in Western India to the "new world of fun-filled education."

The company, which had targeted opening 30 centres during its first year of

operations, had crossed 50 centres, said company director V. Narayan, adding

that the revenue had crossed Rs 2.5 crore. The company, which has a prominent

presence in South, is targeting North in the next one year.
