It was a challenge to transform Sholay into 3D, says Ketan Mehta

BANGALORE, INDIA: The iconic 1975 action drama Sholay which was released in 3D in India on January 3, 2014 has been well appreciated by one and all. The audience loved the movie viewing experience in 3D and experiencing the flying bullets, thundering hoofs and the grungy Gabbar in life like scenes. Maya Digital Studios converted this legendary movie from 2D to 3D.

"Watching Sholay in 3D was a great experience. It took me back to the place where we did the shooting and felt like experiencing it Live. It feels wonderful to be a part of such a great film", said actress Hema Malini aka the Basanti of Sholay.

"I was super excited to see Sholay for the first time on big screen. I have seen Sholay 100 times on TV and DVD, but watching it in 3D in a cinema hall was a great experience. I just loved the movie," said actor Abhishek Bachchan.

The stereoscopic 3D effect created by Maya Digital Studios made the movie viewing of Sholay a spell-bounding experience.
