iSoft to double headcount

HYDERABAD: iSoft R&D Pvt Ltd, part of iSoft Plc and a provider of systems application to the global healthcare industry, will recruit more than 350 people in India by June 2004. After the recruitment drive, iSoft's overall employee strength will go up to 650, more than the double of its current headcount of 300.





In order to accommodate the new recruits, iSoft has taken additional 30,000 sq. ft of office space on lease in Chennai for a three-year term. The facility will accommodate about 400 seats.





iSoft will hire professionals with .Net and Java J2EE capabilities. The company will also hire more than 30 healthcare professionals with strong background in information technology as domain experts.







Commenting on the aggressive recruitment drive, iSoft, CEO, Ravan Boddu said," The current recruitment drive is aimed at fulfilling manpower needs to execute the recently won British NHS order of more than $550 million. We will require a good number of domain experts and technologists to implement such a cutting edge project. And India being our R&D and delivery hub, we would be able to offer exciting product development opportunity to Indian professionals."







Commenting on iSoft’s strategy to focus on a single vertical, Boddu said, "We clearly foresee the strategic role IT is going to play in the healthcare space. We also recognize the fact that delivering in healthcare market requires strong domain expertise thus our decision to focus solely on healthcare."
