BANGALORE, INDIA: ISIF Asia, the Information Society Innovation Fund, has announced the selection of 11 projects, including 3 from the Pacific
Islands, to be implemented in 2014.
During the 2013 call for applications, ISIF Asia received a total of 139
submissions from applicants in 24 different economies across the Asia
Pacific Region. The submissions were received from Afghanistan,
Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Federated States of
Micronesia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kiribati, Malaysia, Nepal, New
Zealand, Niue, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa,
Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.
2014 grant recipients
(1) Improving Internet Connectivity in Pacific Island countries with

The Information Society Innovation Fund (ISIF Asia) is a joint
initiative between the Canadian International Development Research
Centre (IDRC), the Swedish government through the Swedish International
Development Agency (Sida) and the Asia Pacific Network Information
Centre (APNIC) that is aimed at stimulating creative solutions to ICT
development needs in the Asia Pacific region. The grants for 2014 have
also been sponsored by the Dot Asia Organization.
