The minor update to the iOS software is said to address bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks. So, it enables seamless shift to 3G.

It also improves reliability of the HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut, and solves a few issues that were affecting AirPlay video playback "in some circumstances."

There's also improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List, and Apple has fixed an issue where 'Unable to purchase' alert could be displayed after successful purchase.

It can be recalled that iOS 5 included more than 200 new features for your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

iOS 5.1.1 can be downloaded by plugging the device into iTunes and clicking on Update.

In 2011, iPhone users faced a unique problem as their alarm clocks wouldn't ring during the New Year. The problem was traced to iOS 4.2.1 which affected new iPhone 4 users or those who updated their iPhone 3Gs to iOS 4. That was soon addressed by Apple.

Now, are there any apprehensions about the iOS 5.1.1? Is it safe to upgrade to the new software or be contented with iOS 5? What's your experience?
