IRCTC website takes too long to load, it's irritating: Passengers

BANGALORE, INDIA: Consumers trying to book e-tickets through IRCTC website seem to be facing serious problems. The e-commerce portal that caters to millions of railway passengers to book tickets online is one of the largest ticket reservation systems and the most visited websites in India

Although IRCTC officials claim that the IT infrastructure of the online booking portal irctc.co.in (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited) has been updated, users are constantly complaining about the time the Web page takes to load.

Today, several angry users have taken to Twitter to unleash their rage. Passengers claim that they are struggling to get a ticket online through this system and say it's especially hard to book a tatkal ticket.

''What The Hell.....!!!! This IRCTC site is really irritating!! IRCTC = I Refuse Connectivity To Customer !!!'' says one such angry user.

''Booking Tatkal ticket on IRCTC I can still fathom. But, booking Tatkal ticket on IRCTC for Diwali means you need to see a shrink ASAP,'' says another such user.

A user also claims that the tatkal option on the website redirects passengers to the flight booking option. ''IRCTC redirects us to the flight booking page when someone clicks the tatkal option... A very practical solution is to keep things real;-),'' says the tweet.

There are also several tweets requesting the Indian Government to take some action to improve the user experience of the IRCTC website.
