An obscene photo of a 15-year-old US girl was found in the company's popular, free iPhone app BeautyMeter, which allows users to upload their photographs and rate them, according to media reports.

The image depicts the photo of a nude girl snapping a photo of her reflection in a mirror. The site also gave a censored version of the screenshot of the girl, who is listed as a 15-year-old from the United States. The girl on the app is partially nude at the bottom, said a report from wired.

The photo was discovered by iPhone app review site Krapps and nearly 5,000 users of the app have rated the photo. The apps allows users “to submit your photo today and let others start to rate...”

“Come to enjoy the entertaining picture rating and dating application for voting, commenting and dating beautiful girls and boys from all over the world,” the site, www.funnymals.com, says.

However, later the sexually suggestive images were removed following the media reports. "The item you tried to buy is no longer available", now says the message.

Just a week ago, Apple had closed down its porn app 'Hottest Girls' within day of its launch.

A spokesperson from the company while citing the reason of closing down the 'Hottest Girls' app had mentioned that Apple does not encourage the distribution of illicit content and the developer of this application added inappropriate content directly from their server after the application had been approved and distributed.
