Apple iPhone 5 is being widely purchased all over the world despite all the fury over Apple's Maps. According to media reports, five million units of iPhone 5 have already been sold.

However, apart from Apple's Maps, consumers have also complained about the ''scuffs, scratches and chips'' on the new iPhone 5.

An iPhone 5 apparently wrote to Phil Schiller, Apple Inc's senior marketing vice president, regarding the same. Phil has reportedly replied to the mail saying that the scratches and chips found on some new iPhone handsets are 'normal' for aluminum products.

"Any aluminum product may scratch or chip with use, exposing its natural silver color. That is normal." Phil Schiller said in an e-mail, according to 9to5Mac.

After the launch of the iPhone 5 last week, dissatisfied iPhone 5 owners took to message boards and social media to complain about finding small nicks, scratches, or scuffs on their new smartphone right out of the box, according to media reports.
