As Apple further redefines personal and business computing with the introduction of the iPad 3, Brocade revealed the results of a survey of 120 IT decision-makers, many of whom expect iPad 3 and other mobile devices to directly impact their campus LANs.

Almost 40 per cent of respondents indicated that employees use mobile devices to access their campus LANs regardless of an official Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) policy.
More than 30 per cent of decision-makers expect traffic on their networks to increase as a direct result of the iPad 3.
Sixty per cent of survey respondents said they have invested in campus LANs since 2009 to address tablet and smartphone usage.
Multivendor Strategy Rules: 60 per cent of the respondents said their organization relies on networking solutions from multiple vendors to achieve their goals.
Regardless of whether companies have official BYOD policies, mobile device proliferation signifies the potential for a dramatic rise in campus LAN traffic in the years to come.
