CIOL iOS 11 might bring the drag and drop feature to iPhones too

On the WWDC stage, Apple unveiled the most awaited iOS 11 with a focus to turn iPad into desktop computers. Many features made it to the stage including a new file system, a dock for apps, and drag and drop. However, if a recent leak is to be believed, iOS 11 could finally bring a long-anticipated feature to the iPhone also that'll make working on mobile even smoother.

The feature is drag and drop, which does not exist in the current version. According to developers attending WWDC, the company confirmed that the drag and drop feature would be coming on iPhone but is only going to work within apps. It seems that the Cupertino-giant won’t be allowing users to drag and drop files between apps just yet.

Also according to the tweet, it appears the “spring loading” feature is also not supported. It’s a macOS feature which allows users to drags a file and hover it over a folder and it opens on its own.

The functionality is available up beside the Split View on the beta's Feedback menu, which makes it a multitasking feature. It is also going to be particularly useful for the new Files app, which is also available on the iPhone. Users will be to organise items stored on iPhone and iPad easierly.

But let's keep a hold on the excitement because these features are still in beta mode. Hence, there’s no guarantee that this feature will make the final cut. Moreover, Split View is currently only available on iPads, so we will have to wait to see whether the feature makes it to the smaller screens.
