eliminates wasted CDs and CD coasters. The new 40x12x40 internal CD-RW drive
will be available from 15 April at the suggested retail price of Rs. 7,500/-
from all Iomega authorised resellers.
As with its predecessor 32x10x40 internal drive, the new drive also
incorporates overburn technology, which enables liberating as much as 870MB from
a standard CD-R for up to 99 minutes of recording.
"Iomega's new 40x12x40 internal CD-RW drive is now one of the fastest in
internal CD-RW range and we will continue to deliver top quality drives for the
market," said Richard Lim, regional director, Iomega Asia Pacific.
"The speed and performance of the new 40x12x40 drive has been our response
to customer demand for faster and better drives."
Other key features of the product include:
- Supremely fast 40x DAE (Digital Audio Extraction) speed (the rate at which
a drive can "rip" an audio recording from CD), which allows users to
record a 60-minute CD in less than three minutes
- Support for VCD data extraction
- Buffer UnderRuN protection that prevents the inadvertent destruction of
blank CDs during CD-R sessions. This happens when the host computer cannot
maintain a steady
stream of data to the drive and typically renders the disk useless.
- Overburn technology which enables liberating as much as 870MB from a
standard CD-R for up to 99 minutes of recording.
- A software suite that includes the industry-leading titles needed to burn
CDs with ease - Nero Burning Rom 5.5, which allows VCD creation and supports
advanced CD Copy Options, an easy to use InCD packet writing software which
allows the use of the CD-RW drive as a floppy disk and a Nero? Media Player.
