Iomega expands SMB product line

Iomega has announced the launch of two new professional storage products - the Iomega NAS 200d w REV and the internal Iomega REV 35GB SATA drive. According to the company, these products not only deliver on important file-sharing and storage requirements but also create a new product category: a single network attached storage (NAS) appliance with removable REV storage built in.



Both products ship with Iomega Automatic Backup Pro (IAB Pro) software. All Iomega 200d storage servers come standard with Computer Associates' eTrust Antivirus Software version 7.1, which protects data from virus attacks.



Having completed 25 years in the industry, the company is looking forward to introducing newer products and technologies in the next three-four years. Giving the company's outlook for the next four -five years, VP International and MD, Iomega International S.A. Ulrike Tegtmeier said that with the explosion in data, it has become difficult to archive and then find data when needed. "The company is looking at a system, which would do away with the manual part of searching data and automate it," she added.



She also informed that Iomega is planning to partner with companies to build a search engine on PC for finding data faster. The company is also planning to update its Iomega Automation Backup software late this quarter to support Serial ATA hard drives and backups to network hard drives. The company will also look to enhance Folder Share, which allows the remote synchronization and sharing of files. "This means that users can make a change in a PowerPoint file, which is then automatically updated for all authorized users of that file without having to e-mail a copy to everyone," Tegtmeier elaborated.



NEWDELHI: The Iomega NAS 200d Series 320GB is available at a suggested retail price (SRP) of Rs 89,250 for the base model, Rs 1,12,750 with a REV drive built-in and Rs 1,25,500 with Microsoft Windows Print Server option. The Iomega NAS 200d Series 320GB is available at a SRP of Rs 1,26,750 and Rs 1,52,000 with Microsoft Windows Print Server option. The Iomega NAS 200d Series 750GB with Microsoft Windows Print Server option is available at a SRP of Rs 1,76,000. Each 200d server comes with a standard three-year warranty with telephone, e-mail and web-based customer support.



The new Iomega REV 35GM Internal Drive with SATA interface is now available for SRP of Rs 21, 250 with one disk included. Additional PC-formatted disks are available separately for in a pack of four disks for Rs 11,250.
