Intransa IP SAN for Spice Telecom

BANGALORE: Intransa, Inc. has announced that Indian cellular service provider Spice Telecom, has chosen to deploy Intransa IP SAN to host its mission critical core enterprise database application. This move is expected to enable Spice Telecom to implement a TCP/IP standard based, cost effective, easily scalable data management and Disaster Recovery (DR) solution for its mission critical data and sets the stage for Spice to deliver newer generation data intensive cellular services.

Spice Telecom currently stores its core enterprise database application related to customer billing, Business Intelligence, demographics and other administrative information on FC SAN box. With data volumes peaking on the FC SAN box and pressured by growing need to quickly implement a comprehensive DR solution for the database application, Spice decided to install Intransa IP SAN solution, taking advantage of the Intransa solution's ability to scale, for performance and capacity, and its ability to deliver a comprehensive DR solution to a remote location over standard IP networks, a press release said.
