Intex unveils prototype of its "True Octa-Core smartphone"

BANGALORE, INDIA: Smartphone manufacturer Intex Technologies, yesterday unveiled the prototype of its True Octa-Core smartphone.

Intex in a strategic alliance with MediaTek hosted an event yesterday to give a sneak peak of the smartphone.

Commenting on the preview, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, business head- Mobile, Intex Technologies said, "We are confident that our innovation on MediaTek Octa-core chipset will immensely benefit our customers by enabling them with quick multitasking and seamless user performance. Intex is all set to transform the Indian smartphone market with latest technology at an affordable price point."

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Finbarr Moynihan, GM, International Sales and Marketing, MediaTek Inc said, "Building on the success of existing MediaTek quad-core mobile platforms, the MT6592 combines an advanced eight-core application processor with industry-leading multimedia capabilities and market-proven mobile connectivity for a perfect balance of performance and power consumption."

"Unlike existing octa-core solutions in the market, which can only activate half of their CPU cores at once, MediaTek True Octa-Core allows for all eight of its cores to run simultaneously. Each of the eight CPU cores is capable of clock speeds up to 2GHz, designed to offer superior multi-tasking and excellent performance-per-watt for higher-end smartphones & tablets," added Moynihan.

According to Intex, the 6 inch smartphone will run on Android 4.2.2 OS, and comes with 1.7Ghz Octa core processor, HD IPS touch-screen with an option of 16GB/32GB internal memory.
