Intex takes a leap in Notebook market

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Aiming to make a noticeable mark in the burgeoning notebook segment, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd, an IT hardware and electronics company, announced a product-line expansion in its existing notebook portfolio with the launch of nine new avant garde models.

This range - INTEX Lifestyle Book, Gaming Book, Tablet Pad, Business book (3 variants) and Education book (3 variants), caters to the computing needs in intuitive and innovative ways in order to add to productivity and sense of style of varied consumers, said a press release.

All the notebooks are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled and are equipped with either Intel's Celeron chip or high-end processors - Core 2 Duo and Dual Core. Four models are built on Intel Centrino technology platform, the release added.

The price ranger of the new series varies from Rs. 33,000 to Rs. 75,900, based on the model.

With the addition of these feature-rich, compact and technologically advanced models in Intex's notebook portfolio, the company aims to clock in a turnover of Rs. 200 crores from its PC division in this financial year, Intex said.

The contribution of notebook sales in this figure will be around 30 per cent. ,

"Today notebooks make a quarter of the total PC market in India. We are working hard to fall in line with this trend and to grab a piece of the pie with our diversified range of value-for-money, high quality notebooks," said Narendra Bansal, CMD, Intex.
