Intex puts up a grand show at Gwalior Mela ‘09

NEW DELHI, INDIA: With B and C-class regions beckoning, consumer fairs seem to be one of the best ways for companies to strike the right chord with the expanding customer base in these areas.

Intex is participating in one of the biggest and oldest annual vyapar melas of the country—Gwalior Mela 2009. More than 100 companies from various sectors—IT, electronics, home appliances, etc are participating in the fair which opened on Jan 11 and will go on till Feb 15, 2009.

Intex has displayed its full portfolio of products comprising of computer peripherals, PCs (desktops, notebooks, TFT-LCD monitors), mobile phones and consumer electronics.

Interesting offers and schemes have also been launched especially for the fair, like free travel bags/pack of DVDs with DVD players and multimedia speakers, etc.

A separate counter has been created for mobile phones apart from a dark/demo room for multimedia speakers so that consumers can get a feel of the performance of the product.

According to Naved Chaudhary, Senior Marketing Manager, Intex, “Participation in such events plays an important role in educating customers and guiding them through the range of Intex products. We are always enthusiastic about this major platform in Madhya Pradesh as it not only generates good sales but also helps us to analyze the market trends in the region and get valuable first-hand feedback from consumers.”

This event is organized by Gwalior Trade Fair Authority, which falls under Department of Industries, Govt of MP. Spread along permanent 1,200 pavilions and 500 platforms, this event sees footfall of more than 35 lakh visitors every year.
